How-to guide
How to remove vocals from a song on Mac
On macOS, VocalSplit runs in any browser and produces cleaner stems than Audacity, GarageBand or Logic's own built-in stem splitter. No install, no plugins.
The stems come back as 24-bit WAV, which Logic, GarageBand, Ableton Live, Reaper, Pro Tools and every other Mac DAW imports without conversion.
Step-by-step
- Open vocalsplit.io in Safari, Chrome or Arc. All modern Mac browsers work. Apple Silicon and Intel Macs both supported.
- Drag an audio file onto the upload area. From Finder, a DAW export, iTunes library or anywhere else. Up to 100 MB.
- Pay with Apple Pay. Touch ID on Mac confirms the purchase without typing.
- Wait about 15 seconds. The separator runs on a GPU in the cloud — your Mac does no heavy lifting.
- Download the zip. Open the stems directly in Logic, GarageBand, or any other DAW. Both files are 24-bit WAV.
Tips for better results
- For Logic Pro users, drag the WAV stems straight into your arrangement — no import dialog needed.
- Apple Silicon Macs process the upload and download slightly faster thanks to better network stacks.
- Stems show up in Finder's Quick Look preview so you can audition before importing.
