How-to guide
How to remove vocals from a song on Windows
On Windows there are a dozen download-first tools, most of which are either abandonware or shovelware. VocalSplit is a browser tool that produces cleaner stems than any of them, with no installer and no telemetry.
Output stems are 24-bit WAV — the same format every Windows DAW (FL Studio, Ableton, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One) expects. Drop them in and they play.
Step-by-step
- Open vocalsplit.io in Edge, Chrome or Firefox. Works on Windows 10 and 11. No browser extensions needed.
- Drop the song on the upload area. Drag from Explorer, a network share, or the Downloads folder.
- Pay with card or Google Pay. Stripe handles payments; no account creation required.
- Wait about 15 seconds. Processing happens on our servers — your PC does not need a GPU.
- Download and unzip the stems. Windows Explorer unzips the file in place. Open the WAVs in any DAW.
Tips for better results
- For FL Studio users, drag the WAV stems onto the Channel Rack directly.
- Cubase and Studio One pick up the BPM from the filename if you name the stems accordingly.
- Reaper has a built-in rendering option that matches VocalSplit's 24-bit WAV format exactly.
