How-to guide
How to remove vocals from a Bandcamp download
Bandcamp lets you download anything you buy as a lossless FLAC, which makes it one of the best sources for vocal separation. You feed VocalSplit a pristine master and it gives you back studio-quality stems.
Pay once on Bandcamp, then download the album as FLAC (not MP3) for the cleanest possible vocal separation. The FLAC is bit-for-bit identical to the master the artist uploaded.
Step-by-step
- Buy and download your album from Bandcamp. Choose FLAC format in the download dialog if it is available — it is lossless and free with any purchase.
- Open VocalSplit.io. Any browser, any device.
- Drop the FLAC file in. Bandcamp FLACs are usually 20–40 MB per track, well under the 100 MB limit.
- Pay and process the split. $0.99 per split or $4.99 for 10. The separator runs on GPU and returns stems in about 25 seconds.
- Download the stems. Lossless 24-bit WAV files, ready for remix, study or DJ use.
Tips for better results
- Bandcamp supports bulk download of a whole album as a zip of FLACs — convenient for batch processing.
- For Bandcamp live albums, separator quality depends on how heavy the crowd noise is.
- If you are remixing for personal use, Bandcamp is a friendlier licensing environment than major labels.
