Why VocalSplit wins for most people

Buying RX just for vocal separation is like buying a car to commute around the block. VocalSplit costs pennies per song — hundreds of splits before you even approach RX's entry price — and requires zero learning curve or license management.

What VocalSplit gives up

VocalSplit only does vocal separation. iZotope RX's other modules — de-click, de-hum, spectral repair, mouth de-click — are genuinely powerful and have no equivalent in VocalSplit. If you also do dialogue editing or audio restoration, keep RX for those tasks and use VocalSplit as the cheap, focused separation step.

Our take: RX costs hundreds of dollars upfront for a full audio-restoration suite you may barely use. VocalSplit costs a dollar per song for the one module you actually needed. For separation, VocalSplit is dramatically cheaper without giving up output quality.
