How-to guide
How to extract an acapella from any song
An acapella — the isolated vocal stem from a song — is the foundation of almost every remix, mashup and vocal edit. VocalSplit produces one in about 15 seconds from any MP3, WAV or FLAC source.
An acapella you extract yourself is rarely as clean as an official one the artist released — but it is usually far cleaner than what any free tool can produce, and works fine for mixing under a new instrumental.
Step-by-step
- Pick the source file. Cleaner source equals cleaner acapella. FLAC or WAV is best; 320 kbps MP3 is also fine.
- Open VocalSplit.io. Works in any browser on any device.
- Upload the song. Files up to 100 MB are supported. One credit per song.
- Pay and wait for processing. $0.99 per split, or $4.99 for 10. Results in about 15 seconds.
- Download the vocals stem. The acapella comes back as a 24-bit WAV. Drop it into your DAW and start building under it.
Tips for better results
- Songs with clear, centered lead vocals produce the cleanest acapellas.
- Expect some instrumental bleed on heavily compressed modern pop — that is normal for any AI separator.
- For the highest-quality acapella, always start from a lossless source.
